Patna, (Bihar Times): Inebriated students of the
Nalanda Medical College Hospital celebrated the New
Year’s in their own style. They ransacked the girls’
hostel and even tried to molest some girl students.
According to reports the trouble started when the
girls refused to join the boys in celebrating the New
Year. The boys then stormed into the girls’ hostel.
The girls said that about 15 boys broke the lock of
the main gate of the hostel and forcibly entered it.
The girls were celebrating New Year’s among
themselves. The boys smashed the window panes and
furniture when the girls did not join them.
This happened just after midnight. The girls
complained that some of their clothes were burnt and
the boys even tried to molest them. The girls locked
themselves in their room and rang up the police. Later
in the day they even gave the Agam Police Station a
written compliant. The boys celebrated New Year’s in
their own style last year too, but they did not broke
into the girls’ hostel.
According to the principal, C B Chaudhary, the guilty
students have been identified and will be punished. A
three- member team of senior doctors have been
constituted to probe the matter.
The SHO, R B Mahto, said that they rushed to the
college campus and brought the situation under
control, Nobody has yet been arrested.
