|            |   Patna,   (Bihar Times): The Planning Commission has shown
  generosity towards Bihar. It   has decided to increase
  state’s allocation by three times for the 11th   Five
  Year Plan.
 The state is likely to get an allocation of Rs   60,631
  crore in the 11th Five Year Plan (2007-2012) against
  the allocation   of Rs 21,421 crore in the Tenth Five
  Year Plan. The additional allocation   will be spent on
  social service sector, such as education, health,
  water   supply and urban development.
 
 According to the deputy chief minister,   Sushil Kumar
  Modi, the state government had accelerated the pace   of
  expenditure in the last two years of the Tenth Five
  Year Plan. He said   that his government want to make
  optimum utilization of fund allocated under   the
  Eleventh Plan to develop the state.
 
 The break up is: Rs 17,480.06   crore for social service
  sector, Rs 7876.15 crore for irrigation and   flood
  control, Rs 7848.78 crore for rural development, Rs
  5385.65 croe for   human resources, Rs 4717.84 crore for
 power sector, Rs 2797.39 crore for   other financial
  services sector, Rs 1982.43 crore for industries   and
  mining, Rs 1697.71 crore for agriculture and allied
  activities, Rs   646.43 crore for special component
  programme, Rs 311.32 crore for secient and   technology
  and Rs 872.54 crore for health services.
 
 Bihar’s allocation   has increased notwithstanding the
  fact that UPA is ruling at the Centre while   NDA in
  Bihar. This was in total contrast during the Tenth
  Five Year   Plan.
