Patna, (Bihar Times): The foundation stone of the Rs
266 crore hi-tech Steel Processing Unit (SPU) of the
Steel Authority of Indian was laid by the Union
minister of Steel, Fertilizer and Chemicals, Ram Vilas
Paswan, at Afzalpur village under Mahnar block of
Vaishali district on Tuesday. The foundation was laid
amidst chanting of Vedic hymns.
Speaking on the occasion Paswan said that SPU would
usher-in prosperity in the years to come. He
reiterated that development was on the top of his
political agenda.
It is second SPU of which Paswan had laid the
foundation stone in the state in the recent past. A
couple of months back a similar unit was set up in the
outskirt of Bettiah in West Champaran district.
