Patna, April 24 : In a setback to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) dissidents in Bihar, the party Thursday ruled out any change of leadership in the state unit.

Party general secretary and Bihar in-charge Kalraj Mishra visited Patna and managed to pacify the dissidents who were asking for the removal of state BJP president Radhamohan Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi.

Mishra told newspersons: "I told them all to stop it. There is no more question of changing the state leadership."

He met every BJP legislator and elicited their views for strengthening the organisation. Mishra said senior party leaders like L.K. Advani and president Rajnath Singh had never discussed the possibility of changing leadership in Bihar. "We can't think of it at this stage when the parliamentary elections are not far away," he said.

Mishra said he would apprise the central leaders of the views of the party legislators and senior state leaders during a meeting in New Delhi Friday. "I will hand over a report to the party's central leadership," Mishra said.

Mishra said the state cabinet reshuffle exercise by Nitish Kumar, which caused heartburns for some BJP legislators, was done after consultation with the BJP central leadership and no state leader should be blamed for it.

BJP is a junior partner to the Janata Dal-United (JD-U) in the ruling coalition.

I would again request BJP and JD(U) MLAs, state leaders and central leaders to sit and discuss the matter within the coalition and try to find out the solution. If you sit and discuss you will find a solution which will help you all to strengthen both parties. There is a solution to everything. Also discussion will definitely point out many of the short comings within themselves. Everybody have the right to express their views/feelings, so during the discussion please express your feelings openly and tell the members about your liking and dislikes. In this process everybody will realise their mistakes and the solution can be easily find out. Both parties have only 2 more years to perform well and do some good work for the people of state so that people can remember your good work and elect you again. I am sure you all will understand and would find out a solution. If you fail to perform, it would be disastrous for you.

I know how much damage done by Lalu-Rabri combination in 15 years of their rule. Congress is equally blamed because it was congress who was supporting Lalu-Rabri govt.for all the mess.  What was the scenario of infrastructure/road network, education system, health system, technical / non technical institutions and law & order situation in the state during Lalu-Rabri raj. Congress was mere spectator. Now Lalu is claiming all the credit for bringing railways into profit, but if he is so intelligent then why he did not do anything in Bihar for 15 years. During his regime Bihar went 25 years backward. Chandrababu Naidu changed the face of Andhra Pradesh in 10 years of rule and brought the state as one of the developed state of this country. If Lalu-Rabri would have been so development oriented people then in 15 years Bihar should have been considered as one of the most developed state in this country. How much Rabri understands the meaning of the word "Development" ?

Also I observerd that during Lalu-Rabri regime not many people even raised their voice against the govt. due to fear factor and also because Lalu never use to listen them. But now since the fear factor is reduced and govt. is doing lot of development work in whole state, many people unnecessary are making hue & cry resulting into hinderance in development work. We need to think about speed up of work and not trying to stop/delay the work.

Now when the things are improving in all fields, I would request both BJP and JD(U) to work in best of their coordination and cooperation so that you can prove your capabilities and people can again proudly opt for you as their representative. I think if you show the work, people of Bihar will definitely give you more and more chances.
Hope the best.
