Patna, (Bihar Times): The East Central Railway has
offered to built a vehicle   subway, which will link
station with the Buddha Memorial Park, coming up   in
the old Bankipure Jail premises.
 According to the General Manager,   East Central
Railway, Girish Bhatnagar, the Railways are aware of
the   problem at Patna Junction premises. Therefore,
this idea was floated to the   chief minister, Nitish
Kumar, who liked this idea as well. A team from   Indian
Railways comprising Railway Board Member and ECR
officials met the   chief minister on Tuesday to seek
support for the ongoing railway projects   and make the
state government a partner in turning Patna into a
world   class station.
 
 The state government, on its part, gave its nod to   the
proposal and assured to solve land acquisition
problem.
 
 A core   team comprising officials of Bihar State
Electricity Board, Bridge   Construction Corporation,
Patna Municipal Corporation, Road   Construction
Department and the district magistrate will assist
Railways   in completing this project. The railway
ministry has appointed Hong   Kong-based Aedas as the
