Kidnappers push minor boy from running train

Patna, Feb 4 : A minor boy abducted nearly 10 months ago, was pushed out from a running train by his kidnappers as a punishment for attempting to escape from captivity.

Rahul Kumar, eight years old, was abducted from Muzaffarpur district by unidentified men and held for ransom for months. When his parents failed to give the ransom, the boy was shifted to Gorakhpur town in the neighbouring Uttar Pradesh.

"I was forced by them to work like a bonded labour after my parents refused to pay the ransom," Rahul told the police.

He said that his attempt to escape angered his kidnappers.

"One day, they informed me that they would free me. I was happy and boarded a train to Muzaffarpur with them, but they pushed me out from the running train."

"When I gained consciousness I realised that I had lost one leg and sustained serious injuries all over my body," he said.

"Abductors freed him after turning him into a handicapped boy," Rahul's mother told IANS by telephone Monday.

She said she had been running from pillar to post for help from the state government and the police, but no one helped the family.
