Labour migration increasing fast under Nitish rule: CPM

Patna, (Bihar Times): The CPM has charged that the migration of labour from Bihar under the Nitish Kumar government has increased by one and a half time.

Addressing a Press conference on Tuesday the state secretary of the Party Vijay Kant Thakur held the economic policy adopted by the chief minister responsible for the sudden rise in the migration of labour from the state. He said that earlier 10 to 11 lakh people used to migrate annually. Now the figure has reached 17-18 lakh. He said that in many villages of North Bihar no male members has been left in the family. He cited the example of Kusheshwarsthan and Andhri where large scale people have migrated.

He said that though it is claimed that eight lakh job cards have been made yet two-thirds of the fund meant for the National Rural Employment Gurantee Scheme has still not been spent.
