|           |   Patna (Bihar Times): The   national president of the
  Confederation of Indian Industry CII), Sunil   Bharti
  Mittal, on Wednesday favoured special state status for
  Bihar so   that it emerges as an investment hub.
 Talking to newsmen after a meeting   with CII’s members
  of Eastern Region and Bihar Chapter, he said he   would
  also take up the issue of special state status at the
  national   council meeting of CII in New Delhi in March,
  and also with the Union   government.
 
 
  Mittal, who heads the Bharati Group, said Bihar
  requires   special state status. If this is not
  possible, a few districts, having the   potential of
  attracting private and public sector investments,
  should be   given that status. The special status, he
  said, would allow industries   wishing to set up shop in
  the state avail of certain tax   concessions. 
 Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, deputy chief minister
  Sushil   Kumar Modi and a host of senior government
  officials attended the interactive   session.
 
 He said Bihar has scope of investment in   telecom,
  agriculture, food processing, tourism and   sugarcane
  industries.
