      | Kathmandu, Feb 10: While kidney racket kingpin Amit Kumar was dramatically handed over by Nepal to Indian authorities within hours of his arrest, an Indian don remains in a Nepal jail, ignored by both the Indian media and authorities. Dhirendra Yadav, said to be one of the most wanted men in India's Bihar state, was arrested last month from Sunsari district in Nepal's Terai plains.

 | | Like Kumar, Yadav and three of his gang members - Bouba Mehta, Dhiru Yadav and Bombom Yadav - were arrested from a holiday resort in Sunsari's Itahari town.
Residents of Supaul district in Bihar, all four were wanted for kidnappings, robbery and killings. Dhirendra Yadav - aka Mukhiya - is said to be wanted for 35 crimes.

This year, he is alleged to have been responsible for the death of a Nepali bank employee, who was shot on his way to deposit money in the bank.

Last year, Yadav's gang spread panic in the border towns of Nepal with a spate of abductions, for which ransoms ran into millions.

After his arrest, Yadav told the police that his gang was heavily armed. They possessed sub machine guns, rifles, pistols, revolvers and an arsenal of bullets and bombs.

However, there has been no effort by Indian authorities to have Yadav and his gang members deported to India.

Interestingly, another of India's "most wanted", Bihar don Pappu Yadav, has been doing time in Biratnagar jail in eastern Nepal after being arrested in 2002.

There is no move to deport Pappu Yadav, who was tried by Nepal's courts in accordance with Nepali laws for a string of kidnappings and extortion.
