      | Patna, (Bihar Times): Former top bureaucrat N K Singh
and former Union health minister C P Thakur are the
likely candidates for two NDA Rajya Sabha seats from
        Bihar.
The editor of the Asian Age, M J Akbar, is also in the
race for a third seat that has fallen vacant after the
death of the RJD member, Moti-ur-Rahman.
 | | Singh is now the deputy chairman of the Bihar Planning
Board and looks certain to get an entry into the Upper
House of Indian Parliament after the April biennial
elections. He will be the Janata Dal (United)
candidate. Dr Thakur, who lost the 2004 Lok Sabha
election from Patna parliamentary seat, is likely to
          be the BJP candidate.
However, M J Akbar is likely to be the common
candidate for both the BJP and Janata Dal (United).
The final decision is likely by the end of the
          February.
