Janata Dal (U) MLAs meet Prez, seeks protection for Biharis

 

Patna, (Bihar Times): A delegation of eight Janata Dal (United) MLAs from Bihar called on President Pratibha Patil on Saturday and submitted her a memorandum seeking protection to the people of North India, particularly Bihar, in Maharashtra, Assam and other places.

Those who met the President are Shiv Prasanna Yadav, Prem Kumar Mani, Kishore Kumar Munna, Gyanendra Singh Gyanu, Rameshwar Prasad, Jamuna Chaudhary, S N Arya and Ganesh Yadav.

The memorandum flayed the political terrorism of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, which it said, was against the constitutional tradition of the country.

Meanwhile the state Congress would be sending a high-level delegation to Maharashtra to meet the chief minister, Vilas Rao Deshmukh, to ensure safety and security to the people of Bihar living and working there.
