State administrative officials seek pay-scale uniformity

Patna, (Bihar Times): The All India Federation of State Civil and Administrative Service Associations has sought increase in quota for promotion to IAS cadre from 33 per cent at present to 50 per cent.

The secretary general of the Federation, Jiban Chandra Chakrovorty, while addressing the 15th Convention in Patna on Sunday said that his trade union unanimously pressed for setting up of a national pay commission for state civil service officers to bring in uniformity in pay-scale. He said that at present the pay-scale of state civil services varied from one state to another.

Quoting Shetty Committee Recommendations he said that their pay-scale be made on the pattern of IAS and judicial officers.

The Convention also called for the better co-ordination between the IAS and state civil service and claimed that the officers of the state service are much more responsive than the IAS. The Bihar Administrative Service Association hosted the Convention.
