Women battalion to guard border

 

Patna, (Bihar Times): The Sashatra Seema Bal (SSB) is planning to raise special women battalions to check smuggling by women and the activities of the ultra-Left on India-Nepal border in Bihar.

According to the DIG, SSB, S K Jha, two women battalions have been promised for Bihar. He said that they would be deployed by October-November 2008.  

An informal meeting was held with a delegation from Nepal in Patna on Tuesday. The meeting discussed the issues related to the fake Indian currency, smuggling and activities of the Communist Parties of Nepal and Indian Maoists. Many women are now involved in these activities.
