      | Patna, (Bihar Times): The Bhagalpur district president
of the Rashtriya Janaa Dal, Laxmi Kant Yadav, was on
Saturday evening shot dead just in front of the
Nathnagar police station while he was going to attend
the Pankaj Udhas Nite.
 | | The deceased was coming out from a telephone booth
situated in the house of Gopal Bhagat when he was shot
dead by some unidentified criminals. While two of the
bullets hit the head the third pierced through his
    chest killing him instantly.
The murder in the evening and that too in the heart of
the city sent a shock wave all over the area. The
situation is tense as a large number of people have
assembled outside the police station in protest
against the incident. There is no word from
    administration as yet.

Meanwhile the national spokesman of the RJD, Shyam
Rajak, directly accused the contractor-lobby of the
Janata Dal (United) and BJP of the killing of the
honest and non-controversial Laxmi Kant Yadav, who
always fought against the mafia. He said that his
party would launch a stir over the his murder.

Rajak sought the immediate transfer of the district
magistrate and superintendent of police, who he said,
did not even bother to visit the spot though it is so
    centrally-situated.

The state RJD president, Abdul Bari Siddiqui, is on
way to Bhagalpur while railway minister Lalu Yadav is
likely to leave for Bhagalpur on Sunday morning.

Laxmi Kant’s two brothers were also killed by the
miscreants––one of them just two years back.
