Patna, (Bihar Times): The Vigilance Bureau on Thursday arrested nine persons, including four employees of State Food Corporation, on the charge of lifting excess foodgrains from different godowns of the Corporation in Magadh division.

According to the Additional Director General (Vigilance), Neelmani, a case was lodged with the Bureau against eight State Food Corpoation officials, five marketing officers and 49 dealers and employees of Dutta and Khan Chartered Accountant Company in Gaya for their involvement in lifting of excess foodgrains worth Rs 31.87 lakh between February 2007 and May 2008.

The excess foodgrains were lifted from Corporation godowns at Makhdoompur in Jehanabad, Kaler in Arwal, Mohar, Attari and Bodh Gaya blocks in Gaya district.
