New Delhi, July 22 :Pappu Yadav, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP from Bihar, may have been cooling his heels in jail for some time now but he had almost the entire Lok Sabha on its feet when an indirect reference on him was made Tuesday. Immediately after being at the centre of the commotion in the Lok Sabha and speaker Somnath Chatterjee adjourning it, Pappu walked towards the well of the house to have a private word with Congress president Sonia Gandhi, who was seated in the front row.
Congress general secretary and Gandhi's son Rahul Gandhi too joined the conversation.

Trouble started when the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Vijay Kumar Malhotra accused the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government of taking the help of convicts and criminals in trying to win Tuesday night's trust vote, Pappu Yadav and another convicted RJD MP Mohammad Shahabbudin were on their feet.

“Check the jail records, he (Malhotra) came to see me,” Pappu Yadav said, leading to commotion in the Congress and BJP camps.

Malhotra flatly denied that he had ever met Pappu Yadav.

“You can check the records. I have never met him,” Malhotra said.
