Modi also asked the officials not to deposit government funds in the private banks because they have not been disbursing the credit for development work in the public interest. Instead he suggested them to deposit the amount in the other commercial banks and regional rural bank branches.

Modi made this announcement before the district coordination committee meeting, which was attended by the zonal managers and other senior bank officials of all the banks. The district magistrate, Jitendra Kumar Sinha, and other district administration officials were present on the occasion.

During the review meeting it was found that the Kisan Credit Card was not being properly implemented and performance of all the commercial banks in credit disbursement is not upto the mark.
