Patna, (Bihar Times): After Patna University the employees of all the varsities of the state went on indefinite strike from Wednesday. Incidentally, the employees struck work just when the academic session is about to start. Not only that they ceased work just when the Chancellor’s deadline to streamline its functioning ends in the first week of July.

The employees of Patna University are already on the warpath for the last one month.

According to the patron of Bihar State University Employees Federation, Ramjatan Sinha, the government had taken the employees for a ride. It has not fulfilled the demands notwithstanding the commitment made many months back.

Among other things the nine point charter of demands include pay scale and other incentive on par with the secretariat employees, 50 per cent DA merger with the basic scale and Assured Career Promotion Scheme.
