Patna, (Bihar Times): The Medical Council of India
team, which inspected the Patna Meedical College
Hospital for two days (June 3-4) suggested renovation
    of the hospital building.
The inspection was done to assess the possibility of
increasing the seat of the MBBS students from 100 to
    150.

According to reports the team, led by Dr Malti Mehra
of Maulana Azad Medical College Hospital, made
critical observations about the lack of space for
teaching, though it was satisfied with the space
available on the hospital campus. The team was shocked
to find that in the absence of separate tutorial rooms
classes are being held in the rooms of consultants,
    along side bed for patients.

In one of the wards the team suggested having proper
nursing stations, better visibility to patients and
their attendants. It also advised that there should be
at least one side laboratory on each floor.

However, the PMCH authorities are hopeful that the MCI
team would agree to increase the number of seats.
