Patna, (Bihar Times): The AIDS Society will recruit
15,000 barbers all over the state to educate people
about the dangers of AIDS and importance of safe sex.
According to the joint director of the AIDS Society
Vishal Singh the barbers can teach the people that
AIDS is not a communicable disease and that the
patients should not be treated as untouchables. As the
barbers have access to different strata of the society
condoms will be available free at the saloons, beauty
parlour, massage parlours and other such outlets.
He said that Anti-AIDS programme would be launched in
13 districts of the state. They are Patna, Banka,
Begusarai, Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, Araria, Purnea,
Katihar, East Champaran, Lakhisarai, Munger, Rohtas,
Madhubani.
