Patna, (Bihar Times): More than 30 dissident MLAs,
including a couple of ministers, gave June 5 as
deadline to the central leadership of the party to
decide the fate of deputy chief minister, Sushil Kumar
Modi. They claim that they have the support of at
least 40 out of total 55 BJP MLAs. The resignation by
so many legislators is certainly going to cause a big
crisis as the main target of the dissidents is none
else but chief minister, Nitish Kumar. They have
launched their stir against Modi simply because in
their words he had become a ‘puppet’ in the hands of
    the chief minister.
They met in New Delhi on Thursday and issued the
warning. Incidentally, the meeting came just after the
alleged murderous attack on one of the party MLAs,
Falguni Yadav, by none else but by JD (U) minister in
the state cabinet, Narendra Singh and his son, Abhay
    Singh.
This incident, which took place on Wednesday in Jamui
district, sparked off another row within the Janata
    Dal (United).
These MLAs are camping in New Delhi for the last few
days. They have made it clear to the high command that
they are not going to budge from their position. But
the central leadership, however, appears to be in no
mood to accept their demand till the Lok Sabha
elections are over. Sources say that the central
leadership is in no mood to replace  Modi as there is
nobody of his stature. It first took the excuse of
Karnataka assembly election, now it is saying that no
change is possible before the Lok Sabha election.
After that it would say that the Bihar assembly
    election is near.
During their stay in Delhi the dissident MLAs met L K
Advani, party chief Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley and
    Jaswant Singh.
They are likely to stay in Delhi till June 2, when the
party’s National Executive is to meet there.
