Patna, (Bihar Times): Two persons were killed and one injured in a shoot-out in the irrigation department office under Gardanibagh police station of Patna on Monday afternoon. The two persons died in an exchange of fire between two groups.

According to police the victims were contractors and were killed by the rival gangs. Those killed have been identified as Ravi Shankar Pandey and Satish Pandey. They reportedly went to the irrigation department office in connection with the tender for some work in Bakhtiarpur and Punpun. The police have late in the evening arrested Mukesh Singh on the ground of suspicion.

The broad-day light murder of the two contractors sent shock waves in the state capital as this was the second such killing within 20 days. Earlier on January 20 Sanjay Singh, a contractor from Barh, was killed in front of the REO office in Boring Road. Sanjay’s relatives directly charged the Janata Dal (United) MLA from Mokamah, Anant Singh.
