|            | Patna, (Bihar Times): An all-party delegation under the
leadership of the chief minister Nitish Kumar will
soon meet the Union power and agriculture ministers to
demand more electricity for the state from the central
pool and and to get anomalies in the public
 distribution system removed.
This decision was taken at the all-party meeting held
in Patna on Tuesday to discuss the issue of chronic
power crisis and collapse of the public distribution
system in the state. While Abdul Bari Siddiqui
represented the Rashtriya Janata Dal, Sadanand Singh,
was present on the behalf of the Cognress Party. State
power minister, Vijendra Yadav, was also present on
the occasion. Chief minister Nitish Kumar said that
the meeting took place in a cordial atmosphere.

Meanwhile, former minister of state for electricity,
Shyam Rajak, once again held the then Vajpayee
government, in which Nitish Kumar was the railway
minister, responsible for reducing Bihar’s quota from
the central pool. “Everything is available in black
and white. They did so to create problem for the Rabri
Devi government in Bihar. Now they are themselves
facing the music,” he told newsmen on Tuesday.

Rajak rebutted the Bihar State Electricity Board
chairman, Swapan Mukherjee’s statement that the state
was getting around 700 MW of power when it should get
1,150 MW. He said that the then NDA government reduced
Bihar’s quota to 250-300 MW and it is the Manmohan
Singh government which had increased it to 650-700 MW.
So there is no point blaming the present central
government for the virtual black-out in the state.
