    Patna, (Bihar Times): A huge fire broke out in
    Muzaffarpur-based Kanti Thermal Power Plant on Tuesday
    evening. The fire severely damaged a part of the
    Plant.
 According to the General Manager of the plant P C
    Kumbaj fire broke out due to a spark caused by an
    electrical glitch near highly inflammable materials and leakage in oil barrels used for power production.
 Fire tenders were pressed into service. A large number
    of local people are also seen helping the fire brigade
    personnel in dousing the fire.
 
 The fire is likely to further worsen the power
    situation in the state. The fire is likely to cause
    extensive damage to the plant, which is already
    passing through its bad phase.
