Patna, (Bihar Times): Representatives of urban and rural local bodies in Bihar will now get honorarium from the state government. The decision in this regard was taken by the state cabinet late on Wednesday.

The mayors of municipal corporations and chairmen of the district boards will get Rs 4,000 per month respectively while the deputy mayors, deputy chairmen, and panchayat samiti pramukhs will get an honorarium of Rs 3,000 per month. The Up-Pramukhs will get Rs 1,500 per month, mukhiyas and sarpanchs will get Rs 600, Up-mukhiyas and Up-Sarpanchs Rs 300.

Besides, these elected representatives will get Rs 100 as daily allowances and Rs five per kilometers will be paid as traveling allowance.
