Patna, (Bihar Times): This time it is the turn of the   IPS
    officers. Within a fortnight of the midnight transfer
    of the 67 IAS   officers the state government late on
    Saturday night shifted 31 IPS officers.   This includes
    20 superintendents of police.
 The state capital, Patna,   will now have new Senior SP,
    Amit Kumar. He replaces Kundan Krishnan. Amit   was
    earlier the SP of chief minister’s home district,
    Nalanda.   Incidentally it was in Nalanda that the chief
    minister was attacked last   month when he accompanied
    the former President A P J Abdul Kalam to the site   of
    the Nalanda International University. The district
    magistrate of   Nalanda has already been shifted earlier
    this month.
 
 Kundan Krishnan   has now been asked to join as the SP,
    Bhagalpur, which has been in the news   for all the
    wrong reasons, including the police firing in
    Kahalgaon in   January.
 
 Three police officers have been promoted to the rank
    of DIG.   Gupteshwar Pandey, who only sometimes back
    joined, DIG (Crime Record Bureau)   has now been posted
    as the DIG (Security) in the Special Branch. A   K
    Ambedkar, Assistant IG Inspection, has been promoted
    to the rank of DIG   Shahabad Range. K K Verma and B
    Srinivasan, who were posted as the Assistant   IG, BMP
    and SP (Vigilance) have now been promoted to the rank
    of DIG   Personnel and DIG Vigilance respectively.
 
 Meanwhile, the state government   has also transferred
    three IAS officers and posted three others who   had
    been waiting for posting. Prinicpal Secretary Home,
    Afzal Amanuallah,   has been given the additional charge
    of Minority Welfare department. K C Saha   has been
    posted as the Prinicipal Secretary, department of
    Schedule Castes   and Schedule Tribes Welfare with
    additional charge of Backward and Extremely   Backward
    Classes Welfare Department. On the other hand
    Vishwanath Singh   has been made the managing director
    of the Bihar State Water Board.
