Bihar police officer removed from election duty in Gujarat for reporting against Narendra Modi

Patna,(BiharTimes): A DIG rank police officer from Bihar, who had said that Hindu fanatics were “instigating tribals” in the Dangs district of Gujarat and Chief Minister Narendra Modi was encouraging it has reportedly been removed. A new police observer was appointed for the district on Friday.

“I don’t know about the recall, but I was informed today that a new police observer is on the way. He will join us from Saturday,” Dangs Collector P K Solanki, was quoted in the Indian Express. Top officials of the Election Commission expressed ignorance about the development.

Gujarat’s Chief Election Officer Anital Karwal did not respond to the daily in spite of repeated efforts.

However, BJP’s in-charge of Dangs district Dinesh Dasa, who had lodged a written complaint against Das a day before, claimed the latter had been recalled.

Dasa had stated in his complaint to the Commission that the DIG’s report was “misleading” and was a publicity stunt.

Incidentally, Das was replaced just a day before Modi was to address rallies at Ahwa, headquarters of the Dangs district, and Vansda on Saturday. Das had made the damning observations in his report dated November 26.
