Bhoomi Pujan for beer making firm in Bikram!

Patna,(BiharTimes): Even as more and more women groups are taking to streets everyday against the state government’s promotion to drink culture, Carlsberg India Private Limited (CIPL) on Tuesday laid the foundation of its seventh brewery in the country at Bikram in Patna district.

Ironically bhoomi pujan was performed on the occasion.

The firm expects to become one of the biggest players in the market after the construction of this brewery is completed by the end of 2013. 

CIPL with a start-up capacity of 0.5 million HL would cater to the need of entire Bihar and surrounding states. 

Speaking at the bhoomi pujan function, MD of CIPL, Soren Lauridsen, said, “the setting up of the brewery in Patna district reaffirms Carlsberg’s commitment to India. Like all its breweries in India and overseas, Carlsberg India ensures production of high quality beer through stringent quality control. 

The Danish envoy to India Freddy Svane, who was also present on the occasion, said the setting up of brewery in Bihar is another move that will further reinforce close collaboration between Denmark and India. 

Janata Dal (United) MP of Patliputra, Ranjan Prasad Yadav, assured full help and encouragement to the firm. Local MLA Anil Kumar Sharma was also present.
