Lalu calls for Nitish’s resignation

Patna,(BiharTimes): Holding the state government directly responsible for the bridge collapse at Adalat Ghat on Monday evening Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav said that the Nitish Kumar government has no right to remain in power even for a second.

Expressing shock at the tragedy he said those responsible for the collapse of the makeshift bridge should be booked under Section 302 (murder). He said that during his and his wife’s 15 years rule no such mishap took place during Chhath.

He said the chief minister was busy visiting Pakistan while his deputy Sushil Kumar Modi had assured that he was in command and that everything is all right. What happened today has exposed the tall claims.

“Are not these people feeling ashamed,” he asked. They are now busy twisting the fact by stating that the tragedy took place due to stampeded and not because of bridge collapse, the RJD chief said.

He criticized the prevailing anarchy in the Patna Medical College and Hospital, which is just 200 metres from the spot, yet it could not provide any help to the victims.

Condoling the death of so many people he said that he would rush to Patna after performing arghya in Delhi on Tuesday morning. He appealed to his party workers to rise to the occasion and provide all help to the victims.

RJD national general secretary, Ram Kripal Yadav, who visited the spot said that he had been warning for the last three days that some disaster may take place in Patna as there was absolutely no preparation whatsoever.

“Unfortnuately the tragedy had occurred and we deeply regret it. We sincerely mourn the death of all the victims,” he said.
