Gujarat polls may determine who is a better candidate from NDA to be next PM: C P Thakur

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Gujarat Assembly polls may determine who is a better candidate from the NDA to be the next prime minister, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi or his Bihar counterpart Nitish Kumar.
This was stated by Bihar BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP C P Thakur, while talking to The Indian Express.

“Though it is the central BJP leadership that can settle the PM nominee debate between Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar, I believe Gujarat election result will hold the key. If Modi gets a thumping majority, who knows he can be a frontrunner in the NDA PM candidate race.”

Thakur further said although there are some differences with the Janata Dal (United) the overall relationship between the two parties is good. However, he added that NDA is yet to take a decision on the prime ministerial candidate.

The BJP was happy with Nitish Kumar for saying that JD(U) and BJP would contest the next Lok Sabha polls together.

BJP leaders from each state are campaigning in both the poll-bound states.

Following the appearance of the statement chief minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday held a meeting with the three main party spokesmen. Perhaps they have been instructed how to reacted on the BJP president’s statement.
