Patna turns green on Adhikar Rally eve

Patna,(BiharTimes): On the eve of November 4 Adhikar Rally Patna has been painted green with hordings and bill-boards occupying almost all the open space on the main roads appealing people to participate in large number. What is strange is that some of them have been put up by those having questionable past. The colour of JD (U) flag is green and white.

For example, one of the hoardings has been put up by Annu Shukla, Janata Dal (United) MLA and wife of Munna Shukla, the party leader recently accused of making extortion call of Rs two crore from jail to the director of a college in Vaishali district. Incidentally, the hoardings have the photos of Munna as well Nitish Kumar.

Since it is not the NDA rally but that of Janata Dal (United) alone, its MPs, ministers, MLAs and MLCs are leaving no stone unturned to make it a big success. The opposition parties such as RJD, LJP and CPI ML have repeated accused it of applying all sorts of foul means to make the rally successful.

JD(U) has reserved about half a dozen trains to bring people from different places in the state.

According to Food and Civil Supplies minister Shyam Rajak about 15,000 buses had been reserved so far to facilitate people’s movement to the capital. Big tents have come up in the bunglows of ministers to put up rallyists. They are also making elaborate arangements for providing food to them.

Though the Janata Dal (United) leaders are claiming that all efforts would be made not to disturb the people of the city on the occasion of the rally, which is to take place on Sunday, average citizens are quite wary of the whole exercise. The appearance of some dreaded dons on the hoardings reminds them of the past.

Janata Dal (United) Rajya Sabha member and former bureaucrat R C P Singh held a meeting of party's Intellectual Cell a couple of days back. But reports said that very few intellectuals attended it.
