nitish asks cameramen be pushed back after women protest at janata darbar

patna,(bihartimes): bihar chief minister nitish kumar on monday got upset and instructed security officials posted at his residence to push back tv cameramen who were busy in live telecast of the protest by several women when he was holding the janata darbar.

strongly protesting against the inaction by the corrupt and inefficient officials one of the women indrakala devi from keoti block of darbhanga district, even raised slogans against the police in front of the chief minister before she was taken out of the venue by women police personnel. she chose to take this step when the cm referred her case to the officials as she had already lost her faith in bureaucracy and police.

she alleged that local police had taken bribe from other party to deny her justice in a dispute over land.

three other women rekha devi, sanju devi and pratima devi of a locality under ramkrishna nagar police station in patna district, squatted before the chief minister alleging apathy by the police to deal with their problems.

nitish lost his cool and directed officials to return applications of the protesting women. it is upon this that he ordered that cameramen should be pushed out.

but making vocal protest was not just the monopoly of women. raju rajak of rajendra nagar in patna also alleged that the police was harassing him in the custodial death case of his brother, rudal rajak.

people visiting janata darbar are fast losing faith in it. of late the number of incidents of open protest has increased.
