Main accused in Patna gangrape case not minor: IO

Patna,(BiharTimes): The main accused in the infamous teenage gangrape case of Patna, Prashant Jha, is not a minor.

The Investigative Officer of the case, Ranjita Sinha, has filed a petition before the Juvenile Justice Board seeking transfer of Prashant Jha from the remand home to the Beur Central Jail.

To prove her point she presented the matriculation certificate of Prashant. The JJB has asked the police to verify these documents provided by the IO.

Besides Prashant, who was arrested from Shimla, six other persons were arrested in this case. Two of them are still lodged in remand home at Gaighat while four are in Beur Jail.

The JJB rejected the bail petition of another minor boy involved in the case.

However, police is yet to arrest two of the main accused in the case. Women groups alleged that they are still at large because of their high connections.
