patna,(bihartimes): instead of suspension the saran range dig, alok kumar, was on monday evening shifted and asked to report to state police headquarters till further orders.
the transfer came a day after the police headquarters on sunday acknowledged the receipt of a complaint against the dig, accusing him of demanding rs 10 crore from the representative of a up-based liquor firm, tunnaji pandey.

as reported initial investigation into the complaint found the accusation prima facie true.adg (hq) ravinder kumar on monday confirmed that evidence pertaining to extortion and corruption was found during the economic offence wing (eow)’s probe into the complaint.
the 1997-batch ips officer has been directed to join the police hq with immediate effect. he has been replaced by 1995-batch officer r malar vizhi.
dgp abhayanand said the investigating officer might interrogate the dig. “the fir was lodged on the basis of tunnaji’s complaint after the mobile phones of dig kumar and tunnaji were put under surveillance,” the dgp said.
in his complaint to the dgp on january 13 tunnaji alleged that the dig had threatened to implicate him in false cases if he did not pay rs 10 crore.
