Opposition parties flay Anna for his silence on corruption in Bihar

Patna,(BiharTimes): Political parties, barring the ruling BJP and Janata Dal (United), have strongly criticized the silence of Anna Hazare on the issue of rampant corruption and loot in Bihar.
RJD chief Lalu Yadav questioned Anna Hazare’s move to hold Jantantra Rally. “Democracy is already in Bihar. That is why he is able to abuse everyone, Congress Party, me and others,” he asked adding why was Anna silent on corruption in Bihar.

Stating that Anna is biased RJD national secretary general Ram Kripal Yadav said the Jantantra Rally proved a damp squib. He said Anna’s silence on corruption in Bihar showed he had a soft corner for NDA. Anna is being used politically by the BJP and its allies and he has knowingly allowed it.

CPM leader Sarvodaya Sharma said that Anna’s silence on corruption in Bihar is unfortunate. It was not only the Congress and BJP but the regional parties, which were in power in several states where they were also involved in corruption.

He said if Anna really wants to wage a battle against corruption, he should explain his position. Merely a Jan Lokpal cannot curb this menace. Also, corruption in corporate sector should not be seen differently.
CPI (ML) state secretary Kunal said there were allegations that Anna had sort of an understanding with the BJP and its allies and that was why he was not speaking about corruption in Bihar.

Applauding Anna’s rally, BJP whip in the Assembly Vinod Narayan Jha, said his party extended moral support to the causes he was espousing. Anna is taking a positive step to strengthen democracy.
