BHEL bags contract for Nabinagar power plant

 

Patna,(BiharTimes): State-run Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL) on Tuesday said it had bagged a Rs 2,854 crore contract for setting up a 1,980 MW thermal power project in Bihar.
In a statement the company said it had bagged a contract for supply of the Steam Generator Package for three coal-fired thermal units of 660 MW each. The order has been placed by Nabinagar Power Generation Company Ltd. It is a joint venture of NTPC Ltd and Bihar State Electricity Board for this project

BHEL has established the capability to deliver power plant equipment of 20,000 MW per annum.

Significantly, this is the second supercritical thermal power project being executed by BHEL in Bihar, the first being the 2x660 MW Barh STPP Stage-II of NTPC, which is in an advanced stage of completion.
