BJP’s infighting takes ugly turn as workers protest arrival of centeral leaders

Patna,(BiharTimes): A large number of BJP workers and supporters clashed among themselves outside Patna airport on Thursday afternoon.
The incident took place when one group protested at the arrival of the central leaders who were here to supervise the election for the state president.

The supporters of the present state president, Dr C P Thakur, gathered at the airport to register their protest over the likely nomination of Mangal Pandey as the state party chief.

It must be known that the political situation took a new twist when Dr Thakur also decided to throw his hat in the ring for the second term.

The central leaders who had to face the ire of the supporters of Dr Thakur are Anant Kumar, Dharmendra Pradhan, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Shahnawaz Husain and Rajiv Pratap Rudy along with Radha Mohan Singh, MP.

However, the timely intervention by the police prevented the situation from turing uglier.

These leaders were here to go to Dr C P Thakur’s house to assure him that he would be made the national Vice President of the party. Even there was assurance that his son would be accommodated.

However, later reports said that Dr Thakur had agreed to withdraw after deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi met him at his Fraser Road house.
