Excise duty on liquor increased in Bihar

Patna,(BiharTimes): The state government on Tuesday decided to increase duty on India Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and beer.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the state cabinet.

Principal secretary, cabinet coordination department, Deepak Kumar said excise duty has been raised on IMFL and beer sold in bar and restaurant, from Rs 10 per litre to Rs 15. He said the last hike was on February 5, 2010.
Similarly, the duty on one bulk litre of super strong beer would be now Rs 20. Earlier it was Rs 18.
The new rate would be effective from the date of its notification.
