Parents from Bihar, UP manhandled by MNS men on school admission day in Satara

Patna,(BiharTimes): Workers and supporters of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) manhandled parents of children from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh seeking admission in the Sainik School in Satara.
According to reports the incident took place around 11 AM on Monday at the Satara Civil Hospital, where a medical examination of the boys was being held. They sought admission in standard VI in the school.

The MNS activists came to the hospital and alleged that fake age proofs were being submitted by the parents of the students, who hailed from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh to get admission in the school.

Later they started pushing and manhandling parents of some children there.

MNS Satara district president Ranjitsinh Bhosale justified the action.

“Fake age certificates were being submitted by parents of non-Maharashtrian students in this school. This prestigious school has a glorious history and is primarily meant for the sons of the soils. If the children of the local people are not getting admission in the school, it would be an injustice to them, which is why we took up this step,” he said.

BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Janata Dal (United) spokesman, Shivanand Tiwary, and several state Congress leaders have condemnded the MNS action.
