JD(U), BJP MLAs seek action against RJD, Congress leaders

Patna,(BiharTimes): Some ruling JD(U) and BJP MLAs on Friday sought action against RJD and Congress leaders alleged to be involved in the attack on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s convoy in Khagaria on September 27 last year.

While the treasury bench members referred the matter during Question Hour to counter the slogan shouting opposition, the issue was prominently raised during the Zero Hour by Poonam Devi Yadav, a JD(U) MLA from Khagaria.

She demanded a CBI probe against RJD leaders whose names appeared in SIT probe into attack on Chief Minister during Adhikar yatra and lamented that the inquiry did not include names of those persons whom she alleged were associated with main opposition party and had opened fire on her car while they were returning from the Yatra on that day.

On the other hand the leader of Opposition, Abdul Bari Siddiqui, rejected the SIT probe and instead recalled how Poonam Devi’s husband, Ranvir Yadav, publicly snatched a gun from a security guard and opened fire in the air. He asked as to why no mention has been made about it in the SIT investigation report.

SIT report found the role of RJD leader Ram Kripal Yadav (MP) and Congress leader Pappu Yadav in the incident as ‘doubtful’.
