JD(U) denies reports of rift within party, Grand Alliance

Patna,(BiharTimes): After the Janata Dal (United) on Saturday produced documents on pre-demonetization land deal by the BJP in Bihar the media has shifted its focus from Nitish Kumar-Lalu Prasad Yadav ‘rift’ to ‘serious differences’ between the outgoing and present Janata Dal (United) presidents.

Some reports suggest that Sharad Yadav is upset as he has been left high and dry after he consistently backed all the efforts in which 13 parties, including the JD(U), took part.

Sharad was among the first political opponents who on November 8 itself had said that the prime minister Narendra Modi’s move would hit the common people, farmers and labourers hard, especially in this season of marriages and harvesting and sowing of crops.

Nitish has from the very beginning been singing a slightly different tune. He has been categorical in supporting demonetization, but had always questioned the manner in which it is being implemented.

However, on Saturday top JD(U) leaders met in Patna to chalk out a future course of action on demonetization. Sharad was not present on that occasion though his former trusted aide K C Tyagi along with Harivansh, Pawan Verma, R C P Singh, Vashisthan Narayan Singh attended it at CM’s residence.

However, the Janata Dal (United) sources in New Delhi contacted by BiharTimes  hotly denies any such report of differences.

“This is our strategy. It should be made clear that there is no question of rift within the Grand Alliance or within the Janata Dal (United),” he said.

To buttress his argument the party leader further said that only yesterday (Sunday) Sharad Yadav had shared dais with Nitish’s close aide R C P Singh at Zamania in Ghazipur, UP, where Daddan Pahalwan is interested inpitting his son as a candidate in the Assembly election next year..
