As per the recent news, under a plan to open a few Central University (or rename a few existing ones), the Central Govt. has asked the Bihar Govt. for 500 acres of land in Bihar for starting a new Central University.
For the people of Bihar, this offer is a blessing in disguise. What is needed is to take this opportunity with both hands and revive our ancient great VIKRAMSHILA UNIVERSITY just as has been done / being done to reestablish the ancient Nalanda University. The Vikramshila University was one of the greatest International University of the world at its time. This single step will solve dual purpose : reestablish / revive one of our most precious ancient heritage and at the same time uplift an under-developed rural area of Bihar (i.e. Bhagalpur) to the world map of educational glory.
For the sake of Bihar, let Patna and Magadh Universities wait for some more time to gain the Central Status. And why wait ? The neighbouring state of U.P. has 3 Central Universities - B.H.U., A.M.U., and Alllahabad University. Why not Bihar get atleast 3 Central Universities ?
Friends, please take note - the time for Bihar has arrived as for the nation as whole. I take this opprtunity to solemnly urge the Hon'ble Chief Minister and Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, and also the Central HRD Ministry to kindly utilize this opportunity for the sake of Vikramshila University and for the sake of the people of Bihar and ofcourse India as a nation - to make it "the educational super power".
PLEASE JOIN HANDS FOR THE GREAT CAUSE OF OPENING THE GREAT VIKRAMSHILA UNIVERSITY IN THE SAME GRANDEUR AND STATUS AS IT WAS DURING THE TIMES OF ASHOKA THE GREAT.
