IITians at Wrong Work

I R Sharma

I quote from a report in Indian Express, "A 300-plus team of the Indian Political Action Committee (IPAC) that is mostly, about 70 per cent, made up of IIT graduates have left high-paying jobs in MNCs to join the Nitish campaign.

Very few, only two in the core team, belong to Bihar. All are taking a break from their jobs, and though there is much talk about “risk-taking”, they seem to have little or no insecurity about finding another one.

For now, till the election is done, they are offering their services to the “Leader”." I wonder if it is the best work for the cream of India on whom we, tax payers have spent a huge sum. Could not they opt for some better work for mother India that would have benefited the country and its people in more effective way? Could not these young people work in 300 villages or Panchayats, study their specific problems, suggest ways and means to improve their quality of living, skill some of them and handhold some in micro-entrepreneurship of some sort to have some additional earnings of their family?

In another option, they could have taken up teaching in their alma maters that are having so much shortage of teachers. With their experience they would have improved the understanding of their subjects of expertise among the students. There are many other options too. What will happen if their leader (Nitish Kumar here) wins? Will it mean a significant difference when all the three offsprings of Lalu-Rabri will have to be the members of Nitish cabinet?

I shall like them to answer to my doubts why I don 't like this time Nitish Kumar for Bihar. http://drishtikona.com/2015/06/25/nitish-kumar-why-i-dont-like-him-anymore/

Moreover, what will be there next destination after their leader wins? Will it be UP? Who will be their leader to work for? I wish they think over if there is a better way to serve the real needy of India. For any clarification on my view, please contact me on irsharma@gmail.com
