The sweeping victory of the  Mahagathbandhan must be acknowledged as the mandate  of the people of Bihar and the philosophy that it represenst should be considered as  exemplar of the spirit of Bihar .  Bihar is deeply casteist in its thinking, its orientation and its voting behaviour and nothing can jog their primordial loyalties as caste can. Full marks to Laloo Jee and Sri Nitsh Kumar  for the brilliant combination of brawn and brain,strident sloganeering and discrete silence  for having  outsmarted  the  noisy  upstarts like Amit Shah who will never get to understand  what Bihar is about.The comimg of  of Congress must also be recognised in that it  dissolveed its identity and pride in the common cause of defeating the BJP , the new rallying point for opposition politics.

 The contribution of Sri Moahan Bhagwat is second to none in this grand victory of the alliance , though his motive for coming to the aid  of the Mahagathbandhan will take some time to be decoded. While Laloo Jee led the charge by declaring the contest to  be a war  between the forward castes and the backward castes , Nitish Jee supplemented this frontal assault with some brilliant covert  behind the enemy line action . Nitish Jee is  master of the art of unstated and a great proponent of the strategy of indirect approach which is quite evident form his longevity in politics.For the last several decades he  has  never been divorsed  from power because he  has an uncanny  sense of timing   to abadon the   sinking ship  in just the nick of time .

Hiring Prashant Kishore was an act of consummate piece of realpolitk; it was like hacking  the central computer of the enemy command  and control centre. The fact that he had  kept  his lines  to the enemy camp  -cultivated during  happier times- open was also of immense help  .He was able to harvest a rich bounty of the   jealousy,hostilities and hatred  for Modi with in the party and he unsed the insider information to great effect. The  missed bus  motor mouths like Shatrughna Sinha , R K Singh and others did the rest . The fifth column activity put paid to whatever hopes the opposition may have enjoyed.What could be more sapping  for  the morale of the implacable hostile elements in BJP to see  Nitish Kumar’s government being defended by Rohan Jaitley  in the High Court in the paddy scam  .The message was loud and clear .It may not be idle to recall that one CBI investigation umade Laoo Prasad and Nitish Kumar Jee has survived facing any even though at least  a dozen PILs have been filed.

 There is no doubt that the victory of the Mahagathbandhan is  a vote for Laloo Jee aand his caste centred politics. Nitish Kumar is the piggy back rider and not otherwise. If the people of Bihar had voted for development the tally would have been demonstratively and distinctly in Nitish Lumar's  favour because  over and above those who had voted on reservation plank he would have got something exclusively  for his development charisma. Congress’s impressive tally also points to this same solid mobilisation of  the backward castes. Laloo Jee and Nitish Kumar  represent – or at least represented till before his alliance  with Laloo Jee- dyadic ways of thinking .Laloo Jee was full throated in his anti forward caste agenda Nitish jee  silently reaped the benefit while singing the develoment song .Their dyadic way of thinking and working will be tested in the months to come.
