Nitish Kumar Vows Continued Oversight of Bihar's Development, Assures JD(U) MLAs

Patna, April 21 (BiharTimes): In a strong message of continuity and commitment, JD(U) president Nitish Kumar on Monday assured party legislators that he will remain actively engaged in monitoring Bihar's development work, even after stepping down from the Chief Minister's post.

Addressing a meeting of the JD(U) legislative party at 1, Anney Marg - the official residence of the Chief Minister that he occupied for nearly two decades - Kumar emphasized that his transition to the Rajya Sabha will not reduce his involvement in the state's governance and progress.

According to party spokesperson Neeraj Kumar, the veteran leader made it clear that Bihar remains his top priority. "Except for parliamentary sessions that require his presence in Delhi, he will spend most of his time in Bihar, keeping a close watch on ongoing development initiatives," Neeraj Kumar told reporters after the meeting.

Nitish Kumar's remarks come at a crucial political juncture, following his move to the Rajya Sabha and the recent leadership transition in the state. His assurance is being seen as an effort to maintain administrative continuity and reassure both party members and the public amid the changing political landscape.

Having led Bihar for nearly two decades, Kumar is widely credited with spearheading key improvements in infrastructure, governance, and social welfare. His continued involvement is expected to lend stability to ongoing projects and policy execution, particularly as the state enters a new phase of leadership.

Party insiders indicated that Kumar also advised legislators to remain closely connected with grassroots issues and ensure that development schemes are implemented effectively across districts. With this renewed commitment, Nitish Kumar signals that while his role may have evolved, his focus on Bihar's growth and governance remains firmly intact.
